Joyous Shout! is intended to be an expression of how I feel about music--a thrusting back into the world a small portion of what music has given to me.

Primarily, I am focused on providing Personal Management services to legendary jazz drummer and bandleader Chico Hamilton (I am proud to say a friend of mine!!) and the furtherance of his career and increasing his visibility on the contemporary music scene.

A part of this is continuing to document through recording Chico's music and his relationship with those in his bands, and an extension of this is to continue to document through recording the music and career of emerging saxophonist Eric Person (I am also proud to say a friend of mine!!).

I also intend to keep developing the concept of the Different Drummer Collective, whose first project is an "acid jazz" tribute to Chico Hamilton's grooves and music titled THE SECRET PLACE OF THUNDER. Further evolutions of the Different Drummer Collective will both address and speak to the common ground between classic soul and R & B music and jazz, and will provide a forum for Eric to display his producing talents.

A as yet unrealized dream of mind is to produce an artist or group in the contemporary or alternative Christian music realm. I would like to find an artist or a group who brings together the passion of the Gospel and melds it to high energy rock music. On the rock end of things think of the Small Faces, The Who and particularly Paul Weller. On the Christian ends of things think of bands like Kosmos Express, All Star United or Soulfood76. I like loud guitars, Hammond B-3's, bass and drums line ups, and bands which both produce and project a natural organic sound. Maximum Christian R & B!!!! I would like to both record and do some barnstorming touring with this group.

Ultimately, Joyous Shout! is my attempt to give back just a small part of the rich blessings God has poured out upon me in my life.
